MADRID, 24 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Romanian tennis player Irina-Camelia Begu was proclaimed champion of the Palermo (Italy) tournament, in the WTA 250 category and held on clay, after defeating (6-2, 6-2) this Sunday the Italian Lucia Bronzetti in the final, the fifth title of his career and the first in five years.
Begu ended her drought on the Circuit with a solid victory against the local hope, who was playing her first final, savoring the glory, after an hour and a half of fighting on Italian soil, as she had not done since she was champion before her public in Bucharest in 2017.
The Romanian, executioner of the Spanish Sara Sorribes in the semifinals, entered strongly in each set, doing a lot of damage to the rest and achieving rents in each set that, although the Italian tried to replace, they sentenced the title on the fast track.
