England succeeds Spain as European Under-19 champions

MADRID, 2 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The England team was proclaimed European Under-19 champion this Friday by beating Israel (1-3) in extra time in the final of the tournament that was held in Slovakia.

The English, also champions in 2017, came from Gloch’s goal in the first half. Doyle equalized shortly after the break and in extra time Chukwuemeka and Ramsey gave England the second title in the category.

The tournament had been suspended the previous two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, with which the English succeed Spain, champion in 2019, in the record.
