MADRID, 13 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Italian center back Giorgio Chiellini will play next season in the American Soccer League (MLS) in the Los Angeles FC team, where he arrives as a free agent at the age of 37 after wearing the Juventus shirt for 17 seasons.
Chiellini announced his decision on his social networks, where he published a video in which he himself appears dressed in a polo shirt and a cap from his new team and with a text that reads “the next chapter”. The player changes teams in the same year that he officially retired from the Italian national team.
The duration of the contract of the 37-year-old Italian central defender, who arrives in MLS to compete in a very young team, which debuted in 2018, and whose main star is Carlos Vela, is not yet known. In December 2020 he got to play the final of the CONCACAF Champions League, but fell to the Mexican Tigres.
Giorgio Chiellini leaves Juventus after having won the Serie A nine times, the Italian Cup five times and the Super Cup another five. In addition, he was one of the players who played for ‘Vechia Signora’ in the second division, where he also managed to become champion.
