Rinalds Malmanis will not continue at UCAM Murcia

MADRID, 8 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Rinalds Malmanis will not continue at UCAM Murcia CB next season, after the Latvian and the club have decided to separate the paths that have united them since February 2020, a stage in which the power forward has played more than two full seasons of the Murcian complex.

Malmanis, who had previously played for Baskonia and Betis, arrived at UCAM Murcia shortly before the break due to the pandemic, playing the last games before the temporary suspension of the league. The Latvian renewed and has played these last two seasons in the Murcian team, with which he has played 21 games last year, playing the Copa del Rey and getting into European competition.

The Latvian power forward leaves the team having averaged 1.3 points and 0.4 rebounds per game this season, playing about four minutes per game, being part of the Murcian rotation wardrobe.

UCAM Murcia faces an exciting season next year, for which they have renewed Sito Alonso on the bench. To date, it has announced the signings of point guard Tavis Trice, from Slask Wroclaw, and center Jordan Sakho, who arrives from Breogán. In the starting chapter, together with Malmanis, the Murcians have had the painful farewell of one of his pillars, Augusto Lima, who has concluded his third stage in Murcia.
