Cristiano Ronaldo puts Portugal ahead of the Spanish group

MADRID, 6 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Portuguese national team thrashed (4-0) the Swiss team this Sunday, with a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo, to become the leader of Group 2 of the First Division of the UEFA Nations League.

The Portuguese team, champion of the first edition of the tournament, prevailed with authority at the Jose Alvalade Stadium. The Swiss team took the lead through Seferovic after six minutes, but the VAR annulled the goal for a hand in the play.

The warning served to wake up the locals, with Carvalho making it 1-0 to Cristiano’s pass. The Manchester United striker was the protagonist once again with two goals before the break that made it 3-0 convincing. Cancelo completed the win.

After two days of the League of Nations, Group 2 is dominated by Portugal with four points, after the draw against Spain last Thursday, the same as a Czech Republic that suffered the Spaniards’ draw this Sunday in the 91st minute. Luis Enrique remains third with two points and Switzerland marches with zero.
