“It’s a privilege to be here”

Eunate Arraiza has made his first statements to the club’s official media after renewing his contract for two more seasons, until June 30, 2024. “It is a privilege to be here. I did not expect to be so many years. I feel very lucky because all this has been earned through hard work, sacrifice and effort”, stated the left-wing player who can play both as a full-back and in midfield.

The Navarrese has played 23 games this season, 21 in the Iberdrola League and 2 in the Cup. “On a personal level, it has been a different season. Both in training and in matches I have contributed as much as I could. What interests me is contributing both on and off the pitch. Next year I will try to contribute more”, he explained.

The team has finished the regular tournament in seventh position with 47 points. “Until February we have had a very good season and from then on we have slowed down a bit because it is true that the teams below were pushing harder and there is a higher level”.

The potential of the League has improved a lot and that shows in the difficulty to be up in the table and fight for the three positions that give the right to play in the Champions League. “The clubs have risen a lot both sportingly and financially. The players below are also contributing a lot and that for the future is going to be very good. This makes us work twice as hard and it will be very good”, he added.

Regarding next season, he has pointed out that “it will not be easy regardless of the classification” and finally he trusts the level of the youth squad. “There are very good young players who contribute a lot. Both veterans and younger people can learn from the little ones and they from us. Age has nothing to do with it, in the end we all contribute on the pitch”, he stated.
