Commisso: “Vlahovic ruined us, he rejected Madrid and Atleti”

Rocco Commisso sent another andanada to Vlahovic. The Serbian left Fiorentina in January for the eternal rival, Juventus, and the president of the club violates him directly and does not forgive him. Among other reasons, he attacks him for having disrupted the club’s sports planning and for having rejected other destinations, mainly in Spain, that would have been more profitable for Fiorentina. The leader has analyzed the situation during a press conference where he has analyzed the season of his team.

“When I returned to Florence to close the Vlahovic case in December, he and his agents did not play an honest game and did not behave well with me. Ristic called me and wanted to see me alone. We met at my hotel and for three hours. Every half one hour he would go out because he had to go to the bathroom, where there were two of his friends and he would leave me alone. I was there alone and he had two friends. The next day he came back and said that we could reach a deal, he told me that they would be happy if we closed a contract for 8 million net per season, went from 4 to 8 in 24 hours. Then he said they wanted 6 million in commissions plus a percentage of a future sale, as well as a percentage that would be paid by whoever bought Vlahovic. From there it ended the negotiation and I told his agents that I did not accept this situation. I immediately told the club to look for another center forward and tied Piatek and then Cabral. Meanwhile, the young man (referring to Vlahovic) ruined us, because he said that could accept a transfer and in the summer he had already prevented us from tying him up. We had been stupid in the summer, but not in January. When we signed Piatek and then there was talk of Cabral, he understood that what he had told him was true, that is, that he could end up on the bench. I would have done it with those two purchases. I don’t know how many months they had been talking to Juventus, but in the space of a week Juve, after the player had rejected Arsenal, Real Madrid and Atlético, came forward and we agreed. The situation was like this: but if he had signed a contract with us, it would have been better than doing it with Juventus. I did not make the mistakes of Milan or Naples, I closed the deal, took the money and used it to fix financial fair play,” Commisso explained bluntly.

Atlético was very close to closing his contract for a fixed value of 60 million, but according to sources in the negotiation, they pointed more to Commisso’s intervention than to the footballer’s desire as the reason why the negotiations finally broke down. Atlético had several conversations with Fiorentina and with the player’s agents. Be that as it may, Vlahovic stayed in Florence after the last summer market closed and, later, he forced his departure to Juventus.
