BARCELONA, 4 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona and Òmnium Cultural have signed a new collaboration agreement for the next four years that will allow both entities to work together to promote the Catalan language and culture, in an agreement signed by the presidents Joan Laporta and Xavier Antich.

The event was held in the President Suñol Box at the Camp Nou, and with this agreement FC Barcelona wishes to remain committed to the Catalan language and society. The club will support the initiatives of civil society and institutions in favor of the Catalan language and culture, especially in the dissemination of sport in the Catalan language.

“The club is also committed to supporting all those democratic actions in favor of the rights and freedoms of Catalonia and putting FC Barcelona together with the Catalan people in their free exercise to decide their future,” the Blaugrana entity said in a statement.

Òmnium, for its part, will offer personalized attention to athletes from all sections of the club to provide them with knowledge about the Catalan language and culture, and will offer talks and annual sessions, with relevant experts, within the framework of the Masia training.

“Today is also a special day for us. I am pleased that it is a pride for Òmnium to sign this agreement, since for Barça it is an honor, because we are two institutions united by the defense and promotion of what is the language and the Catalan culture, and also this social cohesion that we all want for the country and with regard to the defense of the civil and political rights of Catalonia”, defended the Barcelona president, Joan Laporta.
