Four years in prison for Santi Mina for sexual abuse

The Celta player, Santi Mina, has been sentenced to four years in prison for a crime of sexual abuse, although he has been acquitted of the crime of sexual assault requested by the Prosecutor’s Office and the private prosecution. The footballer must also pay a compensation of 50,000 euros to the victim and imposes a restraining order of 500 meters for 12 years.

For his part, the Ibiza footballerDavid Goldar has been cleared of any criminal responsibility. In his case, only the private prosecution requested a crime of sexual assault, since the Prosecutor’s Office did not appear in the case against the Galician defense.

Sentence will be appealed by the defense of Santi Mina, who during the trial alleged consent on the part of the victim. The events occurred in Mojácar in the summer of 2017 and five years later this sentence arrives, which is a serious setback for the Celta player. From the Vigo club, its president Carlos Mouriño proclaimed “zero tolerance”, although he claimed the presumption of innocence. Now, with the sentence on the table, the club must decide on the matter.
