The club continues to appeal the sanction, and this Wednesday it has received an agreement from the Sports Arbitration Court (TAD) rejecting the request for urgent precautionary measures requested on April 12, still holding the possibility of appealing it before the TAD, although Sergio Leon would still not be able to play the next match against the UD Almeria.

“Total rejection of this type of behavior”

The Valladolid has expressed his “total rejection of this type of behavior by any player” and “will analyze what happened” in Gijón but, “notwithstanding the foregoing, the sanction is understood to be disproportionate, since in more serious situations and acts, lesser sanctions have been imposed,” the letter adds.

“The administrative channels to defend the club’s interests will continue to be exhausted, but we want to show our discomfort with the delay in this type of procedure, since the events occurred when there were 30 competition games remaining, but compliance with the sanction is urged when only there are seven left, causing considerable damage to the club in this last stretch of the season, which could lead to compromising the proper development of the competition,” concludes the club.

Sergio Leon he is an important player for the blanquivioleta team, even more so in the final stretch of the season in which the fight for direct promotion is at stake, so this punishment comes at the worst time and the club considers it “disproportionate” with respect to the action carried out by the Cordovan striker.
