The current Netherlands coach, Louis van Gaal, has confirmed that the treatment carried out to combat his prostate cancer has worked satisfactorily.
The former coach of FC Barcelona, Ajax, Bayern and Manchester United, among others, reported earlier this month in a television interview in his country that he was suffering from this disease, and days later he assured that he has received good news.
“I’ve been through everything. I had 25 radiotherapy sessions and then I had to wait five or six months to see if it had done its job. It did,” Van Gaal, 70, told the Dutch news agency ANP.
The veteran coach will lead his country in the next World Cup in Qatar at the end of this year and will later leave office to be relieved by Ronald Koeman.
