Pellegrini: “Penalties? It’s the third part of the match, first you have to try to win it”

MADRID, 16 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The coach of Real Betis, Manuel Pellegrini, assured that he is not thinking about extra time or penalties before facing this Thursday (9:00 p.m.) the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 against Eintracht Frankfurt after 1 -2 of the first leg.

“The team is aware that we have to come back. We have a whole match to do it. We play against a creative team, we must be strong defensively. For us, the sooner we equalize, the better. We must play our football and have defensive concentration”, indicated the Chilean in the press conference prior to the match.

“Penalties? It’s the third part of the game, first you have to try to win it. We’ll try to play the football we usually do without speculating”, added Pellegrini, aware that they must ‘seek’ the game from the start to accumulate “more options” .

In addition, Pellegrini confirmed the participation of Sergio Canales and Héctor Bellerín: “They are in a position to play. We will see this Thursday what the starting eleven will be. One of the merits of being here was the rotation we made and it was based on individual levels. There are mistakes , but so far it worked,” he added.

On the other hand, the Verdiblanco coach said about the state of mind of his players that he is “good”: “They are good, we came from defeats but the team was never down. We are in all three competitions, we always had our spirits up. It has boosted us plus that victory against Athletic”, sentenced Pellegrini.
