ASISA Borges Vall was proclaimed champion of the Copa del Rey table tennis this Thursday by beating Cajasur de Priego (3-2), the defending champion who lost to the Catalans, while UCAM Cartagena TM won the Cup of Queen Iberdrola 2022.
Marc Duran, Joan Masip, Viktor Brood and Alberto Lillo were the architects of Borges’ triumph. Duran, individual champion this 2022, won the last and decisive point against Machado, eleven times absolute champion of Spain.
In the third point, the advantage that Joan Masip gave against Carlos Caballero was important, although Ferreira (Cajasur Priego) returned to level the final. Marc Duran gave ASISA Borges Vall the title, the third Cup for the club from the capital of Las Garrigues.
Meanwhile, UCAM Cartagena TM lifted its sixteenth Copa de la Reina Iberdrola title, after beating Reus Ganxets Miró in the final 3-1. Li Fen and María Xiao added two victories that Li Fen sealed the title for the Cartaginense team, which will now seek the Iberdrola League and the European Cup.
