Real Madrid in the Champions League: possible quarterfinal rivals and when they are played

Real Madrid will be in the pot for the quarterfinals of the Champions League after coming from behind at the Bernabéu from the tie with PSG. Ancelotti’s team is one of the eight teams that will fight for the title in the last rounds of the continental competition. Bayern and Liverpool were the first to get the ticket for the quarterfinals this past Tuesday and the whites got it this Wednesday, as did Manchester Citywho beat Sporting de Portugal in their tie.

The other four teams that will be in the quarterfinal pot will be elucidated in the return matches scheduled for next week: Ajax-Benfica (2-2 in the first leg), Manchester United-Atlético (1-1), Lille -Chelsea (0-2) and Juventus-Villarreal (1-1).

The quarter-final draw will take place on Friday 18 March at 12:00 at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon. Pairings will be determined by pure draw, without any conditions, and teams from the same country may also face each other. The team whose ball comes out first will play the first leg at home. The semi-final matches will also be raffled and which team will act as the local team in the final on May 28 in Paris.

The first legs of the quarterfinals will be played on April 5 and 6 and the return matches a week later, on April 12 and 13, all at 9:00 p.m.
