The agreement with Spotify, well advanced but not finished

The president of Barca Joan Laporta explained, in the interview granted this Monday to the club’s media to commemorate his first year in office, how the negotiations are going with Spotify, the Swedish streaming music brand that wants to sponsor the Barça club on its shirt and other assets like the stadium. “It is on the right track, it is not yet fully signed, we have to wait because we are in talks. We cannot say that it is done”, he wanted to specify to avoid the rush. Questioned then about the assets to which his sponsorship would be dedicated, the top Barça leader stressed that “it would be the first team shirt, the training shirt and the stadium”.

Laporta He insisted on several occasions that the operation “is very advanced but we cannot say that it is finished.” And he was satisfied: “Linking Barça to music would be very nice but the agreement has not been concluded”.

The agreement must go through the Assembly. A vote like in the Espai Barça referendum. “I remember it as the moment in which we entered modernity with this telematic route that can give us a more participatory process. Participation is democracy and the more people who can express their opinion, the better”. And next time, if a ratification of the main sponsor of the shirt has to be done, “we also plan to do it electronically. The telematic referendum is easier, but it will be necessary to see how the technicians articulate it. If 4,000 come and everyone wants to intervene, let’s see how we do it, but we will find a way to make everyone happy “
