The World Padel Tour expands its television signal to 110 countries

MADRID, 2 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

This season of the World Padel Tour (WPT) circuit can be seen in up to 110 countries on television, through local or regional operators, in a figure that the organization ensures is assimilated to that of major international sports competitions.

“This milestone never seen before in the heart of the blue track reaffirms global growth and interest in a sport that continues to attract new followers on six continents,” WPT said in a statement.

In addition to the agreement announced a few days ago with Movistar Plus in Spain for three seasons, there are even more recent agreements with Sky Mexico, with the Dutch operator VodafoneZiggo and with the American provider DirecTV for the broadcast of the circuit tests in the Aztec country, The Netherlands and in 58 territories in South America.

Some new alliances that are added to those signed in 2021 with Canal+ France to take the broadcast of the circuit to more than 60 countries and with the Mediapro Group to internationally market the audiovisual rights for the next seasons.

All these agreements join those signed in previous seasons with Nordic Entertainment Group (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Iceland), SKY Italia and Telenet (Belgium), among other platforms.

In 2021, the number of views through the official YouTube channel doubled that of the previous campaign, with an average growth of 97 percent in the 18 countries with more than 300,000 views.

2.3 million live viewers per tournament (43 percent more than in 2020) on YouTube and 36 percent growth in views of on-demand content through this channel inspired the launch last year of World Padel Tour TV, the official OTT of the circuit, which in its first two months of activity accumulated more than 225,000 registered users

The tenth season of the World Padel Tour will see the consolidation of its official video streaming platform, developed by LaLigaTech, and which will allow fans to watch the round of 16 and round of 16 live for the women’s and men’s draws, totally free. In turn, the women’s circuit throughout the 2022 season will be broadcast in full, in full and open.
