Granada “strongly” condemns the racist episode against Akapo

MADRID, 1 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

In the 60th minute, Akapo was substituted, and while he was being replaced by Iván Alejo, a fan in the stands rebuked him and made an imitation of a monkey. The player recriminated him, as did another follower present in the row before the subject in question.

“Granada CF strongly condemns any act of racism and will not tolerate any behavior in its stadium that reflects an intolerant or discriminatory attitude towards the players or fans who come to our field,” the Nasrid entity said in a statement.

“The club has initiated an investigation and will take the pertinent measures to firmly sanction this behavior that does not represent the values of Granada CF or its fans. Granada CF maintains zero tolerance for all kinds of racist manifestations and is proud of a fan base that He has always shown his respect towards rival clubs and supporters,” he concluded.
