The Spanish tennis player Sara Sorribes has achieved the pass to the round of 16 of the tournament in Monterrey (Mexico), of the WTA 250 category and played on a hard court, after beating the Russian Kamilla Rakhimova (7- 5, 6-7(2), 6-1).
The Castellón native, number 36 in the world and fourth favorite in the Mexican competition, suffered to close her match against Rakhimova, who forced the third set and extended the fight to three hours and three minutes of play.
Sorribes answered 5-3 with which the Russian went ahead to win the next four games and win the opening set, although her rival leveled the match by winning the tie-break in the second round.
In the third, she lost her first serve, but did not let her opponent win a game again. With this, she meets the winner of the duel between the Mexican Renata Zarazúa and the French Harmony Tan.
