Another ‘Alaba Case’ in sight between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid

The football transfer market allows us to glimpse a new train wreck between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the short term, as has already happened in the case of David Alaba. The Austrian central defender left behind more than a decade in Munich by not reaching an agreement to renew his contract, a situation that Real Madrid took advantage of to make him an important offer (12 million net per season) to be the substitute for Sergio Ramos and lead the new white defense, along with Militao.

An operation that has gone well for Madrid: Alaba has adapted to the white club from the first day, his rapport with Militao is great and both are showing a very good level so far this season. The Austrian arrived at the club for free, although significant figures had to be paid in terms of commissions and transfer bonusbut in short it was a very beneficial operation that Madrid would like to repeat.

And in this context appears the name of Serge Gnabry, a Bayern winger whose contract ends in 2023 and that he is already negotiating the option to renew with the Bavarian club. But, according to Sport1 in Germany, the positions are very far apart: Gnabry wants a salary of around 15 million gross (around 7.5 net per season) and at Bayern they consider that he is not at a sufficient level to ask for those amounts. The German club is very rigid when it comes to salaries: if a footballer does not adapt to the established scalesthere is no problem in opening the door for him for a transfer or leaving for free at the end of his contract.

Alaba, Goretzka, Gnabry…

Gnabry wants to earn what Coman and Sané receive, who are on that step of 15 million gross, although at Bayern They believe that he has not established himself as an absolute starter and that, therefore, he does not deserve that consideration: 2019-20 was his best season, with 21 goals, but last year he only had 10. This season he already has 12, he is improving. But it seems that for Bayern it is not enough and in that context Madrid appearsaccording to Sport1, who would be attentive to the situation so that, if Gnabry is released in 2023, incorporate him as he did with Alaba.

It is not the only recent case: Madrid was already studying the situation of Leon Goretzka, a Bayern midfielder whose contract ended in June 2022 and who entered the 2021 season-22 without agreement and with distant positions, asking for a salary of 15 million gross to renew. Madrid also told the midfielder’s environment that, if he left Bayern for free, the club could reach the goals that Goretzka wanted, but finally Bayern raised its proposal and the player renewed until 2026. Now, Madrid sets its sights on Gnabry .
