Koke, down against Manchester

Koke will not play the Champions League match against Manchester United. The Madrid club reported that the Atlético captain suffers a muscle injury in his thigh and his evolution is pending. The midfielder no longer trained last Monday and Simeone rehearsed a midline with Marcos Llorente, Herrera and Kondogbia. We will have to see the extent of his injury to determine the time he will be out, although it seems complicated that he can play against Celta this coming Saturday.

Koke played before the match against Osasuna last Saturday and completed the match. The rojiblanco captain is a basic player for Cholo. He has played 30 official competition matches and has provided two assists. The midfielder has played all six Champions League games this season, although now he will miss the game against Manchester.

Koke was injured at the beginning of the season. He could not play due to injury the matches against Athletic and Getafe and neither did it later against Alavés. He had the coronovirus at Christmas and missed the league match against Rayo Vallecano. But whenever he has been available, he has played. Now he will have to stop and Cholo has to invent a core line in which Carrasco will not be either, who was sanctioned with three matches by UEFA.
