Espanyol ties Brian Oliván, who ends his contract

Espanyol begins to work for the next season and has already reached an agreement with Brian Oliván, Mallorca’s left-back whose contract ends on June 30, as Radio Marca announced. The 27-year-old footballer was trained in the lower categories of Barcelona, his hometown, and this season he has played 17 LaLiga games with the team led by Luis García. If the agreement bears fruit, it would be the first parakeet signing for the next course.

The left-back position was half orphaned for the next campaign at Espanyol. Dídac Vilà ends contract and Adrià Pedrosa, who has not yet reached an agreement for its renewal (contract ends in 2023), is on the market as happened the previous summer, although finally the blue and white sports management decided to retain it despite having an offer. With the signing of Oliván, at least one place would be covered.

The footballer, represented by the Promoesport agency, became a U-17 international, although he later lived through a few years of constant club changes. Now in Mallorca he has found continuity after going through Braga B, CSKA Sofia, Valladolid B, Recre Granada, Cádiz and Girona. This was his first campaign in the top flight. In LaLiga SmartBank he has played 104 games where he has assisted up to five goals.

Although the sports director Francisco Rufete has not officially renewed, Espanyol is already working for the next course with this move or that of Tonny Vilhena, who arrived in January with a voluntary purchase option of three million. The restructuring of the squad will be a fact next year, taking into account those on loan and the players who are ending their contracts.
