China wants to be Elon Musk’s new rival: create a plane that goes around the world in three hours

The increasingly famous space war between Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos has a new participant: China. The Asian country has important claims to lead the space tourism industry and, to this end, it has created a hypersonic aircraft that can go around the world in three hours.

This space plane can take off vertically while attached to a rocket. Once it is separated from the take-off piece, is capable of reaching 4,000 km per hour. A speed that would allow him to make a trip from London to New York in just one hour.

The plane intends to welcome passengers in 2025

Space Transportation, the Beijing-based Chinese company in charge of the project, intends to market this vehicle to accommodate passengers. However, those who want to enjoy hypersonic speed they will have to wait until 2025although the company has not yet given details about the price of the ticket.

Tianxing I, the name given to the ship, will travel twice as fast as the famous Concorde. What we are developing is a rocket with wings,” the firm said in a statement, “that performs point-to-point transport at high speed.”

In a video published by the Chinese firm, the plane takes off from the Asian country to land in Dubai, showing that the aircraft is functional and will be able to welcome passengers safely in the near future.

On the other hand, Space Transportatio also is working on an orbital version of the space planewhich could be launched in 2030 and carry passengers into space, in such a way that they can go around the Earth’s orbit before returning to any point on Earth.

The Chinese government is working on its own hypersonic aircraft

The Chinese government wants the eyes of the entire planet to focus on the Asian country. For it, intends to launch its own hypersonic aircraft.

A ship that, unlike the Tianxing I, will not need an additional rocket to take off, so it can start the trip from anywhere on earth.
