MADRID, 18 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Asisa Borges Vall fell by the minimum this Friday against Wiener of Austria (3-2) in the first leg of the semifinals of the European Men’s Table Tennis Cup, a clash marked by equality from the beginning and that leaves everything open for return.
With a starting trident made up of Marc Duran, Joan Masip and Viktor Brood, along with Alberto Lillo, the Catalan team had chances of victory, but ended up losing by the minimum. The return leg will be held next Friday at the Las Borges Blanques Technification Center.
A 3-0 win would qualify Asisa Borges Vall directly –for the first time in its history– for a European final and a score of 3-1 or 3-2 would lead to a new ‘Golden Match’, a fast three-way match sets to elucidate the finalist.
