Health recognizes these two new side effects in the administration of Moderna vaccines

With more than 89 million doses administered since the beginning of the vaccination campaign in Spain, according to data from the Ministry of Health, research on the effect they can have these remain constant in order to find out as much information as possible about the coronavirus. Some signs, to which two new ones have been added, recognized in several cases by the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS).

At the same time that a fourth dose of the vaccine against covid-19 has already been authorized and the youngest sector begins the inoculation with the third phase, the AEMPS has come to point out these days two new symptoms recognized in certain patients. Even if worrying, due to its serious effects, these have occurred in a small number of people so it does not entail a special seriousness in this regard.

This is how paresthesia manifests itself

Specifically on paresthesia, in Spain up to 158 alerts have been detected in cases of vaccinated with Moderna. A sensitivity disorder that occurs with a tingling sensation without prior stimulation, and that is usually detected three days after the administration of the vaccine.

This is how transverse myelitis manifests itself

On the other hand, although there are still no recognizable cases in Spain, which is why the AEMPS has only reported 13 cases worldwide in those vaccinated with Moderna or Janssen, there is transverse myelitis. A rare neurological disorder characterized by inflammation of one or both sides of the spinal cord generating a sensation, also, of tingling, as detailed Medical Writing.

Two new symptoms included in the list of signs that the administration of vaccines can leave and on which Health recommends monitoring to know in which cases to act and be prevented. In any case, it is recalled that these cases are minimal and do not present as many records as fever or the feeling of tiredness, much more recurrent but very light on the given patients.
