Minutes before midnight, the Spanish Football Federation published the minutes of Betis-Sevilla on its website. In it, referee De Burgos Bengoetxea recounted all the details of the attack suffered by Joan Jordán. “The match was suspended at 11:46 p.m., motivated by (Incidents of the public): After Real Betis Balompíe SAD’s goal was scored in the 39th minute, a hollow bar of approximately 50 cm of PVC was launched. Said launch was made from the bottom right as we left the locker room, where there were supporters wearing local team shirts, scarves and flags. Said bar impacted the head of Sevilla player No. 8, Mr. Joan Jordán Moreno, falling to the field of play, requiring medical assistance. Given the facts described, we decided to suspend the meeting by virtue of article 240 section 2c of the General Regulations of the RFEF. The kick-off of the match was made by Sevilla FC SAD. During the first half, Real Betis Balompíe SAD defended on the left side as we left the changing rooms. The result at that moment was 1-1 and the match should resume with an initial kick-off in favor of Sevilla FC SAD and the additional time that we would add up to that moment was 4 minutes”.
Joan Jordán had to be transferred to a hospital, as De Burgos Bengoetxea also noted in the minutes: “As a consequence of the incidents described in section 5, Sevilla FC SAD player No. 8: Mr. Joan Jordán Moreno, required a medical assessment. Suspended the meeting, the delegate of the visiting club Mr. Juan Martagon Romero informs us in the presence of the arbitration quartet, the local club delegate and the federative delegates, that said player was transferred to a medical center to be reevaluated. No optional part is provided to the completion of the drafting of these minutes.
