Pucela is a fort for Valladolid

Real Valladolid maintains direct promotion by adding its eighth consecutive victory at José Zorrilla, a fort, although the goal was desired and it was finally Cristo González who managed to score in the 81st minute against an opponent, Burgos, who barely made work the local janitor.

As is usual, the Blanquivioleta team came out to dominate the game and control possession of the ball. That allowed him to take the offensive initiative with good arrivals to the visiting area, with intention more than success, since Herrero was confident in the visiting goal.

Toni Villa had in his boots, in the 25th minute, a very clear opportunity to open the scoring after a good recovery by Óscar Plano in the center of the field, but he went up too slow with the ball and when he wanted to pass Weissman and the Burgos defense he had relocated.

Neither Weissman, a minute later, was able to overcome Herrero, since he did not finish controlling the ball and the shot came out with little force. Real Valladolid tried again and again against a Burgos that had to be used in the defensive field and, therefore, barely managed to reach the Blanquivioleta area.

Despite the more than evident local dominance, it did not translate into an advantage on the scoreboard, which led to the break with the initial 0-0. After the restart, the situation continued along the same lines with a dominating local team, although Burgos began to worry more in attack.

History was repeating itself. Those of “Pacheta” arrived, but they did not find the necessary completion and the feeling that was beginning to settle in José Zorrilla was that the Burgos could catch the rival in a resignation and score that goal that was denied to the Blanquivioleta team.

It was Cristo González who, with a great shot to the squad, impossible to stop, raised the long-awaited goal for Real Valladolid. That ended up giving momentum to a team that was looking hard for the three points and that was able to add another goal to its locker, although in this case, Herrero deflected Plano’s low shot.

That single goal, and later than expected by the overwhelming dominance of Valladolid throughout the match, would be enough to give the victory to the Blanquivioleta squad.
