This is the period in which Social Security can grant (or deny) a retirement pension

With constant concern about the pension system, 2022 will once again bring Social Security and the Ministry headed by José Luis Escrivá on its head. All with the aim of continuing to trust a stable model, for which a series of reforms have been carried out, which will directly affect the new retired that arrive in the next few months.

And it is that since retirement pensions are the most representative within Social Security (about two out of three benefits respond to this reason), the institution always has a great deal of paperwork in order to get its aid to all applicants.

Some payments that are transferred at the end of the month, but for which there are a series of terms for those newbies who enter retirement. This is highlighted by the Ministry according to Spanish law, which requires a response within a period of maximum time of 90 days.

However, this month and a half of response is not usually completed, as the average times ensure that no one is left in an unprotected situation. In this way, as calculated by Social Security throughout the past 2021, the decision to grant or deny a retirement pension was estimated over 20 days (19.97 days on average by application).

Time from which, once it is granted, the retiree will begin to collect his pension in question, depending on the contribution he has and the specific aspects of each person. In case of denial, there is the possibility of claim for which it will be necessary to attach the documents for which the Ministry has declined to give the go-ahead.

These are the three ways to apply for a retirement pension

To arrive at this approval or rejection, a new retiree has three mechanisms by which they can request the benefit:

Filling in a form available on the Social Security website, attaching the necessary documentation and entering different personal data. With everything completed, it can be deposited in a Social Security office or sent by ordinary mail.

Without the need for a digital certificate (you can get it in four simple steps), you can request it on the procedures platform as long as you have a computer, tablet or mobile phone, an email address and a camera in order to prove your own identity.

In person at the Social Security offices, for which you must make an appointment: on the phones 915412530 Y 901106570 24-hour service, on the agency’s website and at its Electronic Headquarters (with electronic certificate, Cl @ ve PIN, username + password or via SMS).
