MADRID, 4 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa has fallen this Tuesday in her debut in the individual table of the Adelaide (Australia) tournament, in the WTA 500 category and preparatory for the Australian Open, against the Belarusian Viktoria Azarenka (6-3, 6-2) , who was able to take revenge for his defeat in the last Indian Wells final.

The Catalan, number eight in the world and fourth seed in the oceanic competition, went ahead 3-2 in the first set after breaking twice the service of her rival, who linked four games won to overcome the set and close it in her third chance.

Already in the second round, Azarenka did not face any ‘break’ ball against and took the fight thanks to two new breaks that allowed him to end the fight in just over an hour and a quarter of play.

Curiously, both were paired in the doubles draw of the Australian tournament, where on Monday they beat the pair formed by Japan’s Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara (6-4, 6-2).

For her part, the also Spanish Sara Sorribes beat the Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia (6-4, 5-7, 6-3) in the first round of the Melbourne tournament (Australia), and awaits a rival in the duel that faces the Belgian Greet Minnen and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova.
