Málaga leaves Alcorcón in an agonizing situation

A goal by Paulino de la Fuente in the 79th minute allowed Málaga to win the victory over Santo Domingo, in a match with hardly any chances, and almost left Alcorcón sunk, which already sees salvation at thirteen points.

With twelve casualties between injured and affected by the covid outbreak, Malaga appeared in Santo Domingo to try to take advantage of the weakness of Alcorcón, whose own nerves due to their condition as bottom player took their toll on their game, predictable and fearful.

Fran Fernández, who could not count on his captain, Laure for the right side, lined up Venezuelan international Víctor García from the beginning on that side, who was one of the players with the most imbalance and contribution to a potter attack that in the first half barely had depth.

The second half was a carbon copy of the first, with a lot of play in the center of the field without either team being able to impose their dominance, giving the match a tiring rhythm that no individual was able to break.

Faced with such a situation, the match could only be broken by an error or a set piece, and that’s how it was. Málaga took a corner from the left, Aguilera cleared badly at the first post and in the second Paulino won the header from Moyano, who remained static watching the trajectory of the ball.

The Madrid team, hurt in their pride, tried to go up in the final minutes, although with almost no time. Even so, he was able to tie in the discount with a double chance by Marc Gual, who failed to finish off two very clear actions to score in the area.

With this result, Málaga remains tenth with 30 points, four behind the promotion zone, and Alcorcón is still bottom with 11, thirteen from salvation.
