Messi, positive for coronavirus

PSG confirmed four detected cases of coronavirus yesterday afternoon. One of them is Leo Messi, as confirmed by the Parisian team in a medical report issued several minutes ago. The Argentine will miss this Monday’s match against Vannes in the Coupe de France and it is a doubt for the match on the 9th against Olympique Lyonnais.

Messi was scheduled to return to Paris today after spending the Christmas holidays in Argentina. PSG has reported in the medical report that the player is undergoing a quarantine adapted to the measures of the coronavirus protocol. France has reported today that people who have the complete vaccination schedule reduce the quarantine to five days (before they were seven) in case of negative in a PCR, so that the Rosario could, in the best of cases, arrive to the game against Lyon next Sunday.

Besides Messi, Sergio Rico, Juan Bernat and Nathan Bitumanzala have been the other players who have tested positive at PSG. The Parisian team faces the modest Vannes this Monday in the round of 32 of the French Cup and will not be able to count on all four when they are diagnosed this Saturday. According to various Argentine media, Messi is currently in Argentina undergoing quarantine after being detected positive yesterday afternoon.
