The Italian Domenico Rinaldi, new Technical Director of Jumping of the RFEN

MADRID, 22 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Italian trainer Domenico Rinaldi will be, from January 1, 2022, the new Technical Director of Jumping of the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation (RFEN) replacing Donald Miranda, reports the RFEN in a statement.

Domenico Rinaldi will try to give continuity to the work carried out by Miranda “with the aim of implementing the monitoring, training and technification in situ in the different Spanish centers and clubs of the discipline”, indicates the RFEN.

The Spanish federation stressed that with Miranda in the last Olympic cycle Spain has consolidated itself at the junior quarry level. From 2017 to 2021, he has added 17 medals in European Championships and achieved the classification of two jumpers in the last Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 and 3 in ‘High Diving’.

Italian born on April 24, 1959, Domenico Rinaldi was an international jumper who competed in the Los Angeles’84 and Seoul’88 Games. He was a European bronze on a 10-meter platform and came to compete in the 1986 World Championships in Madrid, the current Torre de Saltos del Centro del Mundial 86 recently inaugurated.

As head of the Italian junior national team, he has obtained 21 absolute international medals -two of them from his predecessor in office, Donald Miranda-, and has been present, as a member of the absolute Italian coaching staff, in 6 consecutive Games, from Sydney 2000 to Tokyo 2020.
