The Spanish international players of FC Barcelona Femení Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmatí and Irene Paredes are among the 23 candidates to be part of the best FIFA and FIFPRO women’s ’11 World Cup ‘.
In a prize awarded with a single vote of players, the best FIFPRO and FIFA world starting eleven launches a new format in which there are only 23 candidates to be part of the final ideal team, and not 55 as on previous occasions.
FIFPRO and FIFA asked professional footballers from around the world to choose the three players who in their opinion were the most outstanding during the 2020/2021 season in the following positions: goalkeepers (3), defenders (6), midfielders ( 6) and forwards (6) –and the two most voted next among all positions–.
The 2021 Women’s ’11 World Cup ‘will be unveiled on Monday, January 17, 2022 during the FIFA’ The Best ‘awards ceremony. A ’11 World Cup ‘that could have a lot of impact for the Blaugrana since the three Spanish are strong candidates to be part of it.
Alexia Putellas, the current women’s Ballon d’Or, should be one of the chosen footballers while Irene Paredes could enter the defensive axis and Aitana Bonmatí, who receives her first candidacy for this FIFA ’11 World Cup ‘, was one of the revelations from last season, with a historic triplet for Barça Femení.
