This is Oppo’s first folding mobile, the Find N

Oppo will announce its first folding smartphone on December 15, but it has already advanced some of its features and design.

Some manufacturers like Samsung already consider that folding mobiles will be the future, and they have already secured their presence in the new sector with launches like the Galaxy Z Flip 3. But it is not the only one; the next revolution will come from China, and after Huawei, now it is Oppo that dares with this technology.

The Oppo Find N will be announced next week, but to generate excitement the company has published an image and a short video showing the device; You don’t see much detail on purpose, but at least we already know some of the key features of the device.

The Find N will be a foldable in the style of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3; that is, we will have a folding screen inside that will appear when we open the device, to get more space for our apps. When we close the mobile, we can continue using it like any other Android, thanks to a smaller external screen.

Oppo’s alternative wants to stand out precisely on the screens; the inner screen will be somewhat larger than usual, and the outer screen will have a more traditional proportion and similar to a normal mobile. That will be the big difference compared to the Galaxy Z Fold, which uses a narrower screen on the front.

Despite the similarities, Oppo wants to make it clear that this is not a simple copy, but the result of four years of R&D, which generated no less than six different prototypes. One of those concepts had a single screen that covered almost the entire device, but finally Oppo has opted for a more conservative design, or at least that’s the initial impression.

It will be interesting to see how Oppo can bring its touch to a technology that is increasingly popular, and whose growth will be one of the keys to next 2022.
