Rennes claim to play the game against Tottenham, postponed by COVID

The match between Tottenham and Rennes from Conference League is postponed. At least on paper, because the French team does not agree with the decision made by the English, which presented 13 cases of coronavirus, including 11 players.

The Rennes complains that the decision was made unilaterally by the English team and that they wanted to go ahead with the match. The French complained that the Tottenham refused to reveal the number of players affected by the Covid, when the rules state that it must be played as long as the team has 13 available fields and a goalkeeper.

“Following the press release published by Tottenham at 9:00 p.m., Stade de Rennes wants to clarify that this unilateral decision has not been confirmed by UEFA. Tottenham did not want to announce the number of players affected by Covid and advocated for the decision from the English authorities without providing any official document. As the match was not canceled by UEFA, Stade Rennes confirmed their decision to play, “the French club said in a statement.
