The match that faced Atalanta and Villarreal on Wednesday in the last day of the group stage of the Champions League has been postponed to Thursday, December 9, with no confirmed schedule yet, due to the heavy snow that has fallen in Bergamo.
UEFA decided to postpone the match after 9 pm, the scheduled start time, due to the snow that left the playing field at Gewiss Stadium impractical. The referee of the match, the Englishman Antony Taylor, did not hesitate to postpone the duel.
Villarreal need just one point to get through the group stage on their visit to Atalanta, who are also fighting for a place in the round of 16. The first place in group F, in the hands of Manchester United, has been decided from the fifth and penultimate round.
