MADRID, 8 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
American golfer Tiger Woods announced this Wednesday that he will make his return to golf at the PNC Championship, which will be held between December 16 and 19 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, a tournament played by professionals with their children.
Woods suffered open fractures to the tibia and fibula in his right leg after a car accident in February and has not played competitively since.
The 45-year-old Californian has ruled out a full return to competition, but has revealed his desire to play part-time and will officially make his return to the PNC Championship with his son, Charlie.
The couple formed by Woods and his son already played this tournament in 2020 and finished in seventh position. “Although it has been a long and challenging year, I am very excited to close it out by competing in the PNC Championship with my son Charlie,” Woods wrote on his Twitter.
Woods’ return to action was welcomed by Alastair Johnston, tournament executive president. “I am delighted to confirm that Tiger and Charlie Woods will participate in the 2021 PNC Championship. We have been in contact with Tiger and his team for some time and we are delighted that he has now decided to return to golf at the PNC Championship,” said Johnston about the 15-time major winner.
