The newly created First Chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Committee (CFCB’s First Chamber) announced this Friday that Real Betis, along with seven other clubs, have been sanctioned with a fine of 250,000 euros and “conditional exclusion” of European competition for three seasons, due to the breach of the requirement of “not having past due debts”.
As announced by UEFA in a statement, the Betis team faces a significant sports sanction if it does not meet these debts before January 31, 2022. In addition to Betis, FC Astana, CFR 1907 Cluj, PFC CSKA-Sofia were also sanctioned. , Mons Calpe SC, FC Porto, CD Santa Clara and Sporting de Portugal.
“All other clubs were sanctioned with an unconditional financial contribution and furthermore with a conditional exclusion from participation in the next UEFA club competition for which they would qualify in the next three seasons (ie the 2022 / 23, 2023/24 and 2024/25), unless they can demonstrate before January 31, 2022 that they have paid the outstanding amounts, “the statement said.
