Algeciras win against Gimnàstic Tarragona (1-0)

Algeciras added three points to their locker after achieving a hard-fought victory against Gimnàstic, which they beat 1-0 this Sunday at the Nuevo Mirador. Algeciras arrived with the intention of getting back on the road to victory after losing the last game against RM Castilla by a score of 2-0. Regarding the visiting team, Gimnàstic Tarragona did not pass the tables with a score of 2-2 against UCAM Murcia. With this defeat, the Tarragona team was placed in tenth position after the end of the match, while Algeciras is sixth.

During the first period of the match, none of the players managed to score, so during the first 45 minutes the scoreboard did not move from the initial 0-0.

In the second half, Algeciras scored a goal, taking the opportunity to open the scoring thanks to a goal from Victor López just before the final whistle, specifically at 87, concluding the match with a final result of 1-0.

The referee showed Gimnàstic three yellow cards (Ribelles, Aythami Artiles and Édgar). He also showed a red card to the visiting team, which caused the expulsion of Aythami Artiles (2 yellows). On the contrary, the home team left the game clean of cards.

With 21 points, Iván Ania’s Algeciras ranked sixth in the general table at the end of the game, while the team led by Raúl Agné was ranked tenth with 19 points.
