Bardhi leaves Caparrós’s Armenia almost without repechage (0-5)

The Armenia team, led by Spanish coach Joaquín Caparrós, said goodbye to practically any option of being able to play the play-offs for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, after falling 0-5 to North Macedonia on Thursday.

A win in which Levante midfielder Enis Bardhi played a fundamental role, scoring three of the four goals for the Balkan team, two of them from the penalty spot.

A strong score that ended practically any qualifying option for the play-offs for the Armenian team, which came by leading group J, after adding three wins and a draw in the first four days of the qualifying phase.

Quite the opposite of North Macedonia that with its resounding victory in Erevan will reach the last day, in which it will be measured in Skopje with Iceland, with options to reach the play-off as well as the Romanian team.

Who should not worry about the playoffs is Germany, which secured the first place in the group and the ticket to the World Cup in Qatar, after beating Romania 2-1 and 0-4 to North Macedonia last October.
