The Electoral Board admits the candidacy of Alejandro Blanco for the presidency of the COE

The Electoral Board for the elections to the presidency of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) has admitted the candidacy of Alejandro Blanco, its current top president and only candidate, as confirmed by the body on Friday.

The Galician leader, in office since 2005 and who will therefore face his fifth term, has the backing of “all the Olympic Federations and most of the Non-Olympic Federations,” said the COE.

In this way, as established by the Electoral Regulations, the list
Provisional candidacies admitted by the Electoral Board is established with Blanco as the only candidate, and the period for claims is now open, which will end on November 16 at 12.00.

The elections to the presidency of the Spanish Olympic Committee will take place at the Extraordinary General Assembly of the COE to be held on December 1.
