Antonio Conte, Tottenham’s new manager, promised to practice “sexy soccer” and a stable team after his arrival at the London team.
The Italian, the new Spurs coach after the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo, spoke for the first time in the club’s media.
“Being a coach of this team is a pride. Now I want to return this confidence. My philosophy as a coach is very simple: play good football and make it attractive. Having a stable team, not having ups and downs, “Conte said.
“The fans deserve a competitive team that wants to fight. I will do everything necessary to deserve their respect,” added the Italian coach, who has signed until 2023 for Spurs.
“Tottenham is a very important club from England and around the world. Both the club and Daniel Levy (Tottenham president) showed a lot of interest in me. For me it is a great opportunity. I have seen the training camp this Wednesday and I want to start working now. I’ve reached a top club, “Conte said.
Conte will direct his first game with Tottenham on Thursday, in the Europa League against Vitesse, while in the Premier League he will make his debut this Sunday against Everton away from home.
