Al-Ali (Al-Sadd): “We want to keep Xavi and we will not allow him to leave now”

BARCELONA, 3 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The CEO of Qatari Al-Sadd, Turki Al-Ali, has welcomed to Doha the delegation of FC Barcelona that has traveled to negotiate the signing of coach Xavi Hernández, whom the Qataris want to retain or, at least, not let him out at this time of the season.

“We welcome the visit of the FC Barcelona administrative delegation, we appreciate and respect it. But the club’s position is clear from the beginning: we are committed to keeping our coach Xavi with us,” Al-Ali said on the networks of Al-Sadd.

In addition, he assures that at the moment they cannot do without the services of the Terrassa coach, the great favorite to relegate the dismissed Ronald Koeman and take the reins of a Barça trained now, on an interim basis, by Sergi Barjuan.

“We cannot allow Xavi to leave at this delicate moment of the season,” wielded the CEO of the Qatari club. Thus, it is confirmed that there is negotiation and it is intuited that it will not be easy to convince Al-Sadd for the departure of Xavi, who has a contract in force until 2023.

Without Joan Laporta in that delegation, headed by vice president Rafa Yuste and football director Mateu Alemany, Barça will negotiate Xavi’s departure from Al-Sadd, with the obstacle that, according to the Qatar media, the termination clause of the contract is 10 million euros.
