Granada awaits the best Luis Suárez

Luis Javier Suárez (Santa Marta -Colombia- 2-12-1997) is the most important signing in the history of Granada. Or it will surely be when, within five years since he joined the Los Cármenes team in 2020, the deadlines agreed by Watford have to be closed to pay the 15 million euros of his transfer.

Without a doubt, it is a very big effort from which the Granada club still hopes to find good results.. The Colombian was endorsed by a sensational season with Zaragoza where he scored 19 goals. The COVID-19 pandemic extended the dates of the championship and Suárez was claimed by Watford with a terrible detriment to the Zaragoza team. With Luis Suárez he would have ascended in all probability.

His scoring figures are far from what was expected. Last season he scored seven goals (five in the League and two in the Europa League) while this year he has two targets in the ten games in which he has participated. He has fired 12 times, six of them between the three clubs. Clearly more is expected.

Discovered by Juan Carlos Cordero

Forged in the Itagüi Leones de Colombia, Luis Suárez was discovered by the then sports director of Granada Juan Carlos Cordero (today in Tenerife) to incorporate him into the youth of the Nasrid team. It did not take him long to make the leap to Recrem Granada where he scored five goals. The player remained in the orbit of Watford, a team that manages many players. Cordero defines him as “a player with a present and a future”. Then he went to Valladolid B where he scored eleven goals and Nàstic (seven). In total, he has been marked in the League (Second B, Second and First). In total 49 goals.

But this season he is having a hard time lavishing his spectacular starts thanks to which he makes remarkable go-to occasions.l. Nor was he lucky in the launch of that penalty against Getafe that went very far. The fans hope that little by little this powerful player will find his best level. Luis Suárez continues to have the confidence of his coach, Robert Moreno. He is a very important footballer in the plans of this Granada.
