10 – Specimen Teresa Perales
The swimmer Teresa Perales, the most awarded Spanish in the Games with 27 Paralympic medals and 90 in total, adding those obtained in World Cups and Europeans, received the Princess of Asturias Award for Sport 2021 this past Friday. It is the first time that a Paralympic athlete receives this prestigious accolade for his incredible career. There is no doubt that Teresa Perales’ example of improvement must be shared and the new generations should take good note. Congratulations on many more successes.
9 – Quartararo’s historic MotoGP victory
Fabio Quartararo was proclaimed MotoGP champion yesterday at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix and became the first Frenchman to win a world title in the premier category of motorcycling. Quartararo was fourth in a race won by Marc Márquez, but took advantage of Italian Bagnaia’s fall to secure his crown. Next year promises strong emotions.
5 – Borja Garcés sit-in to go to his sister’s wedding
Borja Garcés, Leganés striker on loan from Atlético, left his team standing and went to his sister’s wedding without permission from the club. 0 – Mourning for the cruel murder of athlete Alex Quiñónez
The Ecuadorian athlete Alex Quiñónez, a finalist in the 200 meter dash at the 2012 London Olympic Games and bronze at the 2019 Doha World Cup, was killed last Friday in Guayaquil, for reasons that are still being investigated. Quiñónez, a former Barça athlete, was shot dead with a friend of his and lost his life at just 32 years of age. All of Ecuador regretted the loss of Quiñónez and from here we add our condolences.
