Sorribes and Bolsava are eliminated and the Tenerife tournament runs out of Spanish

MADRID, 19 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Tenerife tournament, scoring for the WTA and which is played on hard court, was left without Spanish representatives after the eliminations this Tuesday in the first round of Sara Sorribes and Aliona Bolsava, who joined that of Nuria Párrizas this Monday.

The player from Castellón could not assert her status as the third seed of the event against the Russian Varvara Gracheva, who prevailed in a marathon match of three and a half hours by 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (4) . The Spanish came to dominate 5-1 in the final set, but could not contain the reaction of her rival and said goodbye in the ‘sudden death’.

For her part, Aliona Bolsava, classified to the main draw from the previous phase, could not beat Camila Giorgi, fourth favorite, in another very long duel, of two hours and 46 minutes, solved by the Italian by 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-4. The Girona woman had a serve to have taken the first set and in the third she was close to equalizing an adverse 5-2, but gave up her service when she tried to equal five.
