Celta 0 – Sevilla 1 | Sevilla win rebound in Vigo

He played like never before and lost like always. That mythical saying so characteristic of football can be perfectly applied to Celta. Sevilla won like a great, without great fanfare, killing their rival at the key moment. Of rebound it is possible to be said, because thus it was the goal of Rafa Mir. The striker found the ball after a carom and had the necessary cold blood to execute Dituro in the hand-to-hand.

The goal landed when Celta flew over the grass, submitting Sevilla. In fact, Mir’s target came shortly after the clearest local occasion. It was in a magic play drawn between Nolito and Aspas. Sanluqueño roulette in the center of the field, pass to the moañés so that he faces the Sevilla area and leaves the ball on a tray to Santi Mina. The Vigo striker sent the ball to the wood when Balaídos half already celebrated the goal.

Lopetegui fixed his ripped defense with a system of three centrals. Fernando, Rekik and Gudelj to replace Koundé and Diego Carlos. And all three fully complied with the record. The Dutch defender started the game heading in the opposite area, although his header did not reach the goal. That was in the 22nd minute and before that Rakitic had shot at goal. Good start for Sevilla, but then the celestial siege began.

A great play by Denis Suárez forced Bono to activate his gloves. The Moroccan goalkeeper was later harassed by Santi Mina, who tried anyway. Even from midfield. It scared Bono’s body, who breathed in relief when he saw the leather move away from the net. Before the break, Mina won with her head in a corner and at the restart came the aforementioned play that ended up on the post.

Rafa Mir’s goal did not change the script. Celta, far from harassing the coup, intensified the siege on the Sevilla goal. Nolito was close to scoring with his head after a good cross from Javi Galán and then again it was Santi Mina who had the goal in his boots. The striker finished off a great pass from Aspas from the left, but the ball crashed into the back of Rekik, who had thrown himself desperately to avoid a goal that seemed sung.

The passing of the minutes was wearing down the celestial, each time with the clouded ideas. Even so, they did not give up in their efforts to find the opposite goal. Bono had to work hard to stop a Brais center that Santi Mina failed to divert within the area. Then Javi Galán tried with a direct shot from afar and Cervi had the last chance to achieve the tie on the horn. The Argentine shot loose with his right leg, Bono easily stopped the Vigo illusions.

Sevilla achieves three gold points that elevate it to the top of the table, three points behind the leader, Real Sociedad, but with one game less. Celta, on the other hand, stays in the lower part, where the cold lurks as the days go by.
