Odriozola's Olympic challenge

Álvaro Odriozola arrived at Fiorentina this summer in search of more minutes given the lack of opportunities at Real Madrid. A gap that he has found in the Italian team, where he has played in five of the seven days that have been played in Serie A. This continuity in the game has allowed him to show his speed, one of his virtues. In fact, the player has confessed in an interview for his club that one of his goals is to be able to run the 100 meters in less than 10 seconds. “I really like athletics and 100 meters is one of my passions. I would like to do 100 meters at maximum speed to know how long I can do. Let's see if one day we can go below 10 seconds ”, he stated.

The Basque side is aware that his speed is of great help to him in the different facets of the game. “The most important thing about my position is defending and that's what I do. It is true that because of my game and characteristics I am very offensive, but I always like to defend and do kilometers at the service of the team ”, has shelled.

Happy to viola

“I am shocked by the way they have welcomed me since I arrived. When they stop me in the street people go crazy and I go even more crazy “, has explained to thank the good reception he has had in the team and in the city. In fact, he has confessed that he is still shocked by the reaction of the fans: “This weekend my father was there and he was amazed in the colors of how they support. There was a ball that was about to go out, I touched it a little and managed to make a corner. People went totally crazy and I got goose bumps ”.

Odriozola has until June 2022 to return all that support to the fans. The player has come on loan to Fiorentina for one year and without a purchase option. It is the player's second loan since he arrived at Real Madrid in 2018 from Real Sociedad. In the 2019-2020 season he was at Bayern Munich, although he only played five games.
