The lights of William and Willian

Betis is experiencing a moment of splendor after the triumphs achieved in the League against Osasuna and Getafe that have shot up their position in the standings after the start of doubtful results. The good feelings that Manuel Pellegrini finds on the pitch are supported after his last stakes in the brilliant versions of William Carvalho and Willian José. Both showed their best virtues in these last two games. The midfielder moved away from that player who walked through the Eurocup almost on tiptoe and the striker catches the version that conquered San Sebastián too many seasons ago.

There is not much chance in these appearances. The lights of both were turned on by Manuel Pellegrini. He had the Portuguese practically in exile a few months ago: his gray Eurocup did not invite any high-flying club to bet on him and in Heliopolis they feared another course of doubts in his performance. At the moment, he catches a place in the eleven of a Pellegrini who never wanted his departure. So at least he expressed it after the exhibition of his center half against Getafe. He has the total midfielder he wanted after giving Canales some air in that role.

Willian José, meanwhile, burst like a storm with three goals (almost four) in his four games played as Verdiblanco. Betis did not use to have an attacker who signed these records in recent campaigns and among the Verdiblancos fans, the shadow of the number 12 that Ricardo Oliveira wore many campaigns ago already appears. A challenge from Brazilians has on the table the former Real Sociedad, who lived a turbulent summer in which he seemed destined to leave San Sebastián in whatever way. His answer on the grass is what Pellegrini expected, which stands out among the causes of these brilliance of William and Willian.
