Villarreal CF has made official the club's departure from Argentine defender Ramiro Funes Mori, that has been transferred to Al Nassr from Saudi Arabia.
The Castellón club has confirmed the departure of the defender in a transfer operation in which the club has not released the figures of the operation, although it seems that the transfer has been closed for 2.5 million euros.
Funes Mori came to the club three seasons ago, specifically in the 18-19 campaign, after paying the Castellón team 9 million euros to Everton for his transfer.
But his contribution has never been decisive, costing him a lot to win the starting place in the team in his first season, to which he added the appearance of Pau Torres in the team as the undisputed starter in that left profile of the center of the defense.
Funes Mori faced the last of his four seasons at the club, as he had signed for four seasons. For this reason, and given the difficulty of having a leading role in the team, both parties have sought this definitive solution.
The goodbye of Funes Mori opens the door to continuity in the team of the international U21 defender Jorge Cuenca, which is the team's alternative for that left profile of the center of the defense, after playing on loan last season at Almería.
