Rafa Nadal will reappear at the Citi Open in Washington

Rafa Nadal has already decided where and when he will compete again. The Spaniard, who has not played since the Roland Garros semifinals, when he fell against Novak Djokovic on June 11, will participate for the first time in his career at the Citi Open in Washington, an ATP 500 that will be played on hard court between the August 2 and 8. The tournament organization announced it this Thursday.

Nadal, who decided to take a break after the French Grand Slam and not attend the grass tour that culminates these days in Wimbledon, will start preparing for the US Open (August 30 to September 12), in the American capital, where he will act as number one seed in an event that also features, among others, two of the London semifinalists, Denis Shapovalov and Hubert Hurkacz, and also with Kyrgios, Auger-Aliassime, De Miñaur, Dimitrov, Isner, Karatsev , Khachanov, Nishikori, Raonic, Sinner and the Spanish Jaume Munar and Albert Ramos.

The normal thing is that later, and depending on how he does in DC, Nadal participates in the 1,000 Masters of Canada, which will take place in Toronto (August 9 to 15) and Cincinnati (15 to 22) before traveling to New York to face the last major of the season.
